Where to start planning you wedding

27990083_1111926502283955_787059123_oOk so the engagement party is done and dusted. Time to sit down and plan out your Wedding.

The best place to start is by thinking about where you would like to have your ceremony and reception (and whether this will be at the same place or not).  Some popular choices are a church, hotel/resort, beach, park, garden or your home or that of a relative. You need to decide this early as some venues book out years in advance! I am always happy to provide clients with a list of suggestions for particular areas if you get stuck.

Next you need to find and secure a celebrant.  Contacting your celebrant can sound quite daunting but remember we are only friendly everyday people with some knowledge of the Law and Wedding Act and are here to help you. We are really great listeners too, and will listen to what YOU want, sometimes we offer suggestions that we think will help or add a little something to your day. Don’t be afraid to say what you and your partner want as this is YOUR day and should be how you want it to be.

Picking the right celebrant for you is important. Some people will book their celebrant without first meeting them in person, which it totally a personal choice.  However if you feel comfortable, I like to arrange a no obligation meeting over coffee with potential clients so that we can get to know each other a bit better and so you can feel comfortable with me being a part of your very special day.
